This is a thread for serious political discussion only. Jokes are allowed but please keep them to a minimum if they are not necessary.
I'll start this thread by saying how I've changed, politically, over the course of this year. First, I no longer believe in the free market. The free market will not fix everything, and saying "the free market will fix it" is a lazy cop-out for people who don't want to admit that they might hold one socialist ideal. I am more statist. That is, I believe in the government more than I did before. I'm not statist to a large extent, but there needs to be some form of central authority to have an effective society. I still believe that the government should offer social freedoms to its people, otherwise there would be tyranny and the people would revolt. I wish people would shut up about sex, more so than I did before. Prior to that, I brushed it off with the "freedom of speech" excuse, but now I think that it would be better for people to not make their lives revolve around their sexuality. This is especially because of that "My Sex Junk" video that was shown in Bill Nye Saves the World.
There's more, but for now, you guys can also add your own political beliefs or something here.

I agree with the sexuality thing, it's gotten so bad that there are people who dislike gays because of shit like "pride parades" and some probably wont come out because they think their sexuality is abnormal and vile.

I really hate that that movement represents me. Acceptance should not be about shoving your identity in people's faces and showing how gay you are. It should be about being normal and not getting kicked out of your house or even murdered for being gay, but instead it's become a way to flaunt your sexuality in a "socially acceptable" way. I also hate it when companies make pride-branded products, that reeks of corporatism and is pretty much just pandering. It's kind of like if someone made a pink version of their product to promote feminism.
